Konikiewicz and universal jazz

An incredible concert by the Konikiewicz Trio “Polish Music in China” is now history. On Thursday, September 29th 2016 in the S1 studio of the Polish Radio, the group played traditional Polish and Chinese melodies in jazz arrangements and Wojtek Konikiewicz’s own works. In one of them – “Mosquito” – we heard insect-like sounds, superbly imitated by instruments. It was a masterpiece, both the music and arrangement.

The hour-long concert proved that music played by the Konikiewicz Trio is absolutely universal and would be enthusiastically received on any corner of the earth. The artists were rewarded with a standing ovation and “forced” to play an encore.

Music by the Konikiewicz Trio encourages you to slow down and relax in this fast-paced world and, at the same time, is very entertaining. It was an unforgettable evening, full of musical feeling.

Their concert was an introduction to the upcoming “Polish Circles of Art in China” Festival – soon the group will perform in Beijing.

Konikiewicz Trio are: Wojciech Konikiewicz (piano), Artur Lipiński (percussion), Maciej Matysik (bass).
