About the musicians:

The international career of the Warsaw group began with an invitation to the BBC program New Generation Artists. Since their nomination for the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Award, the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and recognition in competitions in Kuhmo and Banff, the quartet has been performing in the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Wigmore Hall in London, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Viennese and Berlin Konzerthaus, and also at festivals: the BBC Proms, Aldeburgh, Schleswig Holstein, Chopin and his Europe. Between 2012-2015, the RSQ were a Quartet at Residence at Queen’s University in Belfast.

The RSQ recorded with Hyperion, for which they released albums with the music of Szymanowski, Lutosławski, Penderecki, and also with the complete recordings of Górecki’s string quartets, considered by international critics to be one of the most important interpretations of this repertoire. In March 2015, the quartet released their latest album, with the works of Paweł Szymański and Paweł Mykietyn. The Royal String Quartet, recorded for Hyperion, releasing albums with the music of Szymanowski, Lutosławski, Penderecki, Mykietyn and Szymański, as well as an album with the complete recordings of Górecki’s string quartets, considered by international critics as one of the most important interpretations of this repertoire. The group’s 11 album discography mirrors their versatility and fondness of crossing boundaries: classical, jazz, popular and electronic music.
